There are many misconceptions about metal roofs, and one of those is that they are ‘hot’ by their very nature.  While it is true that metal absorbs heat, the panels that we install are treated and painted.  These ‘cool’ colors serve to reflect solar heat, and metal actually releases any heat it accumulates faster than asphalt shingles.  These factors serve to reduce the heat load on the home, and have been known to reduce the need for cooling up to 40% during the summer months.  This is a significant advantage, especially here in North Texas where we see our share of 100+ degrees days!
